High-Protein Strawberry McFlurry Copycat (No Ice Cream Maker Needed)

Rounding out the copycat lineup with something fruity instead of chocolate — this one leans into frozen strawberries for natural sweetness and that classic pink-swirl look, built on the same cottage-cheese-and-protein-powder base as the Frosty copycat and Oreo Blizzard copycat.

This recipe is part of our High-Protein Desserts collection, where you can find the full fast-food copycat dessert cluster in one place.

Same deal as the other two: just a blender, no special equipment. If you want more easy options like this, the high-protein snacks roundup has more quick ideas.

Blending and strawberry texture tips

The recipe card below keeps the measured ingredients and method in one place. For the best texture, blend the base smooth first, then pulse in part of the strawberries so the finished glass still has small fruity flecks.

Have a Ninja Creami like this? Blend everything smooth, freeze the base overnight, then spin it on Lite Ice Cream for a thicker version.

High-Protein Strawberry McFlurry Copycat

A fruity high-protein strawberry McFlurry copycat made with cottage cheese, vanilla protein powder, and frozen strawberries.
Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings: 2 servings
Course: Dessert, Snack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder about 30g
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 cup milk dairy or unsweetened almond/oat milk
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey to taste

Method

  1. Add the cottage cheese, protein powder, milk, and about half the frozen strawberries to a blender.
  2. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until completely smooth, with no visible curds.
  3. Add the remaining frozen strawberries and blend again in short pulses so small strawberry flecks remain for a McFlurry-style swirl look and texture.
  4. Taste and add sweetener if needed, pulse once more to combine, then pour into a glass and eat right away.

Notes

Have a Ninja Creami? Blend everything smooth, freeze the base in the pint container overnight, then run it on the Lite Ice Cream setting. Fresh strawberries work in a pinch, but add a handful of ice cubes for thickness. Makes 2 servings and is best fresh.

How much protein is actually in this

About 14g protein per serving from the cottage cheese, roughly 12g from the protein powder, and a bit more from the milk — landing around 27 grams of protein per serving. The strawberries add flavor and almost no protein, so they’re not counted toward that number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a different fruit?

Yes — frozen mango, blueberries, or raspberries all work the same way. Adjust sweetener to taste since fruits vary a lot in natural sweetness.

Will this actually taste like cottage cheese?

No — same as the other two copycats in this series, a full 1-2 minutes of blending erases any cottage cheese texture or flavor.

How is this different from the Frosty and Oreo Blizzard copycats?

Same base technique, different flavor — this one’s fruity and dairy-forward instead of chocolate or cookies-and-cream. Good to rotate between all three depending on what you’re craving.
